Some things are so obvious in hindsight you wonder how the world forgot them.

Beef tallow — rendered fat from grass-fed cattle — was the moisturiser of choice for virtually every culture on earth for thousands of years. Ancient Egyptians used it. Frontier settlers swore by it. Your great-grandmother probably had a tin of it on her bathroom shelf.

Then, sometime in the mid-20th century, the skincare industry discovered that petroleum byproducts were cheaper to produce, easier to mass-manufacture, and had a longer shelf life. Tallow got quietly replaced — not because it stopped working, but because it wasn't profitable enough.

We started Primordial Skin because we got tired of reading ingredient labels that looked like chemistry homework. We wanted one ingredient. A good one. One that our skin would actually recognise.

Tallow's fatty acid profile mirrors human sebum almost exactly. Your skin doesn't have to work to absorb it — it simply does, because biologically, it's designed to. No emulsifiers forcing penetration. No synthetic preservatives extending shelf life. No fragrance masking the absence of quality.

We source exclusively from 100% grass-fed, pasture-raised US cattle, rendered low-temperature to preserve every fat-soluble vitamin naturally present. Each small batch is whipped by hand and tested before it ships.

This isn't a trend for us. It's a correction.

We're Primordial Skin — and we're bringing back what worked.
